The boring stuff, but we tried to keep it readable.

In short: we only collect what we need to process your gift and send you a receipt. We do not sell your information. We do not share it with anyone outside our small team. We do not use it for marketing. Period.

What we collect

When you make a donation, we ask for:

Your full name — so we can address you properly in your receipt and thank-you note.
Your email — so we can send you a donation receipt for your records.
Your billing address — this is required by our payment processor for fraud prevention.
Your phone number — optional, but helpful if we need to reach you about your gift.
Your card details — these go straight through our secure payment gateway. We do not store them on our servers.

That is it. We do not ask for anything else, and we do not track you around the internet.

How we use your information

We use your information for exactly three things:

To process your donation and send it where it needs to go.
To email you a receipt.
To say thank you — if you opted to have your name displayed publicly, we will show it on our donor wall.

We do not send newsletters unless you specifically ask for them. We do not call you. We do not add you to any mailing lists.

Who sees your data

Only the people on our team who need to see it. That is our finance coordinator and our payment processor. No third-party advertisers. No data brokers. No one else.

Our payment processor is bound by the same privacy standards we hold ourselves to. They are not allowed to use your data for anything beyond processing your gift.

Cookies and tracking

We do not use tracking cookies. We do not use Google Analytics or Facebook pixels. The only cookies we use are basic session cookies that keep the site running smoothly — things like remembering your selected donation amount as you move between pages.

We do not know where you came from, what else you looked at, or what you are doing after you leave our site. We like it that way.

Your rights

You have the right to:

Ask us what information we have about you.
Ask us to correct or delete your information.
Opt out of the public donor wall at any time.
Request a full copy of your donation history.

Just email us and we will take care of it within a few days. We are a small team, so give us a little time, but we will get it done.

Security

We use industry-standard encryption for all data in transit. Our payment forms are secured with SSL. We do not store your card details on our servers — they pass directly through to our payment processor and are never saved by us.

We are not a big tech company with a security team of fifty people, but we take this seriously. We check our systems regularly and we keep everything as locked down as we can.

Terms of use

By using this site and making a donation, you agree that you are at least 18 years old or have permission from a parent or guardian. You agree that all information you provide is accurate and truthful.

All donations are final. We do not offer refunds because once your gift is sent to the field, it is already being used to buy food and supplies. If you made a donation in error, contact us and we will do our best to help, but we cannot guarantee a refund.

We reserve the right to refuse donations from anyone we suspect of fraudulent activity. This is rare, but we mention it for completeness.

The content on this site is provided as-is. We do our best to keep everything accurate and up to date, but we are human and mistakes happen.

Changes to this policy

If we ever need to change this privacy policy, we will post the updated version here and update the date at the bottom. We will not email you about it unless the change is significant.
